VIP Beach Masters

“ Our volleyball is one of the best in the world, and since the last year, thanks to Vip, we have been able to organize Vip Beach Masters Tournaments at enviable level, and thus to provide quality support to Serbian beach volleyball players in their qualifications for foreign competitions and achievement of international success. This year, in cooperation with Vip, we will go one step further in organizing the tournament, and in line with the world trend we are opening towards young players from all over the world, so as they can reach world competitions gradually by competing in their own region and on their continent. Starting from this year we are organizing the tournaments which are under the patronage of European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) in order to give our and European players a chance to be a part of the elite group and compete there on equal terms.”

As of 2008, Vip is a general sponsor of the Volleyball Federation of Serbia and all national teams, investing at the same time in development of beach volleyball as a professional sport in Serbia. For the third year, Vip mobile and Volleyball Federation of Serbia through Vip Beach Masters tournaments contribute to development of the Serbian beach volley and raise it to the international level. The success of previous tournaments proved that Vip Beach Masters has grown into prestigious event that gathers the best beach volley players in Serbia, who are ready to compete in major international tournaments. We believe that Serbia, with such talents, will have great representation at the Olympic Games in London 2012.

Vip Beach Masters, a professional Serbian championship in beach volleyball, is a series of 3 Men’s and Woman’s National Championship tournaments, which will take place during the summer in Belgrade, Nis and Novi Sad, with an additional Challenger tournament which will be hosted by Novi Sad in mid season, in July. By taking part in this tournament European top ranked players collect points in order to qualify for other European tournaments, and the novelty is that players can collect points that will be ranked within World ranking list.

As Vip mobile became the general sponsor of Serbian Volleyball Federation and all national teams in 2008, it became clear that the year was to be a milestone in the history of national beach volleyball, and the season of Vip Beach Masters 2008 has proved it. Four tournaments of Vip Beach Masters from June to the end of August will provide the prize money of incredible 46.500 euros, while the organization of Challenger tournament grants Serbia entrance to the group of countries which have an opportunity to host European tournaments and the most prestigious competitions on the Old continent.

The very concept of beach volley in the world will be changed completely this year. World Volleyball Federation (FIVB) tends to strengthen continental and regional competitions, so as players can reach world competitions gradually, by competing in their region, or on their continent. Serbia fully supports this tendency and this year within Vip Beach Masters there will be organized Challenger Tournament under the patronage of European Volleyball Confederation (CEV). Challenger is a European tournament which gathers top ranked beach volley players in Europe, with a possibility to have teams from other continents among 4 Wild Cards which are granted by the organizer of the tournament. By taking part in this tournament European players collect points in order to qualify for other European tournaments. This year, among other countries applicants, Serbia has been entrusted with hosting this tournament, thus, has become one of six European countries which will host one of official Satellite and Challenger European tournaments under the patronage of CEV this summer.
